ARE WE TOO DEPENDENT ON COMPUTERS AND MOBILE PHONES; IF YES,  HOW WE CAN REDUCE ADDICTION???

WRITTEN BELOW IS AN ESSAY ON THE TOPIC ''ARE WE TOO DEPENDENT ON COMPUTERS AND MOBILE PHONES; IF YES,  HOW WE CAN REDUCE ADDICTION?''

'' Technology is a useful servant but a dangerous master''

                                                                                                                               -Christian Lous Lange
Computers and Mobile phones were invented in the mid ninetienth century. Ever since their inventions they have become the most prevalent piece of technology. Computers were invented to do complex calcultions for humans. Further, the arrival of internet gave birth to services like emails, internet telephony, online music, digital newspapers, video streaming etc. The handheld computers were created to improve connectivity and make it easier for people to communicate over relatively larger areas.
Computers and mobile phones have become an integral part of our lives to such an extent that many people find it hard to live without them. These gagets have become one of the first things that we see in the morning and the last at night to our all day companions. With their help making a call, sending a text, booking a ticket, buying or selling products and connecting to the whole world is just a figertip away. A few touches at screen allows us to get almost everything you want. These have made almost everything much more convenient than it was before the advancement of technology. The convenience of these gadgets is what makes them the world's fastest growing technological devices.
Online surveys show that almost 81% of adults in developing nations own a smartphone or computer and on an average, people spend over 5 hours a day on mpobile phones out of which almost 2 hours are spent on social media platform alone. Therefore, yes, we are dependent on these devices.
Overuse of these devices has posed serious health problems. Our eyesight is getting affected due to mobile phones and computers. They are also responsible for difficulty in concentration, headaches, sleep disturbance etc. Mobile phones were invented to save our time but now they themselves are a source of distraction which wastes our time.We all have become addicted to these devices for entertaining ourselves in boardroom. In early days, people read books for enhancing their knowledge but now these devices are being used to have answers of simple questions which effect their knowledge.
The only solution to check this dependence and addiction is putting some monitoring and check on their use. Parents must look into the problems being caused by mobiles and these networking sites and must formulate a strategy either to curb or completely stop its fast growing negative influence on the minds of our youth. Their use must be restricted and monitored.
Our youth is the future of our nation. We cannot allow this youth to waste their precious time on mobile phones and computetrs. The same time must be spent on studying, researching, playing games and developing leadership or other life-skills. It is our moral duty as well as responsibility to lead our youth on the right path and teach them to make best use of these wonderfully gadgets to improve themselves only.
